Celebrating our volunteers

Join us for a special picnic on beautiful Mana Island to celebrate 20 years’ of FOMI volunteers…

When – Sunday 25 March 2018

Transport – by Knuckle Charters boat. There will be two boatloads of 30 people each, leaving Mana Marina at 9am and 10am. Then leaving the island at 2pm (for 9am passengers) and 3pm (for 10am passengers).

Note – it is weather dependent. A decision about sailing will be made on Saturday evening. The picnic will be cancelled if the weather isn’t suitable for crossing.

Activities – take a stroll around the island (guides will be available), hear informal talks about FOMI projects, relax and listen to the birds, spot the takahe, meet the ranger, enjoy the new display in the woolshed … and best of all, see first-hand the amazing transformation of Mana Island.  

To eat – bring your own picnic lunch. We will make a delicious birthday cake to share with everyone. Make sure you join us at 12.30pm for the cake and short speeches.

Cost $50 per person for members of Friends of Mana Island, and $60 for non-members.

Get tickets – email guidedtrips.manaisland@gmail.com Include your preferred departure time (9am or 10am), if you are a member of FOMI, number of tickets, and your mobile number. We will confirm with payment details. Refunds will be issued if the picnic is cancelled due to the weather.
